With more than 260 lakes, ponds<br /><br />2) It is also known as BTM Lake.<br /><br />3) This waterbody is nearly 300 years old.<br /><br />4) It was built by the Cholas. One of the longest-ruling dynasties in the world's history. They continued to rule until 1279 CE—more than 1,500 years. <br /><br />5) It is believed that the lake was built overnight.<br /><br />6) The term Madiwala means washerman.<br /><br />7) In the old days, the lake was mainly used by the washermen who lived near it.<br /><br />Madiwala lake Bangalore timings:<br /><br />8) Timings: 6.00 am to 6.30 pm every day of the week.<br /><br />9) Boating Time: 10.00 am to 6.30 pm.<br /><br /><br />10) Entry Fee: 5/- per child and Rs. 10/- per adult. The extra charge per camera (Photography - 100/- & Videography - 500/-).<br /><br />11) Activities: Nature walk, boat ride, bird watching ( I didn't find any), park visit.<br /><br />12) Best Time to Visit: Throughout the year.<br /><br />13) Parking: Parking space available for cars and bikes - Parking Car - 30/- & Bike 15/-.<br /><br />14) The water body is spread across an area of 114.3 hectares.<br /><br />15) If you are interested in photography, you will love to capture the lake and its surroundings in your lenses.<br /><br />16) Boats are available for hire for 30 minutes and 1 hour. If you are lucky enough, you can watch fish swimming in the water even as your boat passes by.
